Sandra A. Dunkelberger

- Sandra "Sandy" A. Dunkelberger, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Homeland Center, Hbg. She was born on August 15, 1937, daughter of the late Francis T. and Carol (Bosacki) Pinkowsky.
- Sandy was a graduate of Junction City H.S., Junction City, KS, class of 1955, and received her Associate Degree from HACC in 1991. She retired from the Commonwealth of PA, Dept. of Health. Sandy was a member of the Civic Club of Harrisburg. She was a very skilled bridge player with memberships in the Harrisburg Bridge Club, the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) and 3 social bridge clubs. Sandy was also an avid reader, loved to travel and welcomed new experiences, enjoyed spirited conversations on life lessons and politics, and her desire for knowledge was never ending.
- Surviving are her daughters, Beth A. (Earl) Rabold of Campbelltown and Laurie A. (David) Nissel of New Cumberland; grandsons, Ian W. and Dylan M. Rabold; granddaughters, Emma C. and Lyla G. Nissel; and sister, Frances A. (David) Melton of The Villages, FL.
- The family would like to thank all of her caregivers at Homeland Center and Hospice of Central PA for their compassionate care.
- Sandy's kindness, generosity and passion for learning followed her into death. As a result, she made the decision to donate her body to Humanity Gifts Registry to further the knowledge of others. A celebration and tribute of Sandy's life will be held at a later date to be announced. For more service information, please email her daughters at celebrateourmom@gmail.com.
