Chester B. Dukeman, son of Edna and Edgar Dukeman, born 12/24/1913, died 10/20/2011 at Essa Flory Hospice, Lancaster. He was the dearly loved husband of Joan B. Lawler.

Chester was a decorated veteran of WWII, during which he made the Normandy landing and fought through the Battle of the Bulge. On his Conestoga farm, after the war, he was once the largest producer of Muskovy ducks in the East, at the same time working as a core maker for PA Malleable. In his younger years Chester often took family and friends cruising on the Chesapeake Bay. After retirement, he became a juried wood craftsman, known especially for his rocking horses. He could also be seen roller skating in the city streets, or skillfully dancing at the rinks, where he and Joan met. Having attended one game in it's opening year, Chester became an enthusiastic fan of the Barnstormers every succeeding year.

Throughout his long life, Chester liked to help those less fortunate. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be private. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Chester's name, may do so to Essa Flory Hospice, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17604.
